TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SUBMITTING NEWS ARTICLES OR VIDEO NEWS SEGMENTS
  1. You represent that you are at least 18 years old.
  2. All submitted articles and video should reflect what is important and relevant to the Mexican and the American communities.
  3. Submitted videos should feature the video and audio content relevant to the issue. (more than just a "talking head" giving an opinion). Video can include interviews, establishing shots, and b-roll to illustrate, voice over, reporter's opening and closing shots, etc. Click here to watch a reference sample.
  4. Articles should be no longer than 450 words and no less than 300 words. Videos should be between 3 and 5 minutes long, edited with natural sound on tape.
  5. We encourage persons submitting written articles to include all graphic materials that will support the article, i.e. pictures, printed materials, etc. Any included images should be a maximum of 5MB to 7MB, 72 dpi, 8.5 x 11 inch.
  6. You represent and warrant that you are owner of all copyright interests in all written material, images, and video (including the audio component thereof) submitted. MATT reserves the right to reformat all submitted content, including written articles, attached images, and videos, and to edit or translate all such content in the discretion of MATT.
  7. You may be paid an honorarium of US$30 per published article (U.S. $40 for published video). Increased honorariums may be available in the sole discretion of MATT up to a maximum of $50 ($60 for video).
  8. The more clicks, comments and votes your article or video receives from the audience, the more chance that MATT will exercise its discretion to increase your honorariums in the future.
  9. Articles and videos should not include racist, derogatory, or discriminatory statements, nor disrespectful language. Remember, we are looking for objective, solution-seeking reporters and collaborators.
  10. By submitting your written content, any images and/or video to MATT you hereby grant to MATT and its affiliates a non exclusive, perpetual, royalty free license to publish those materials and create derivative works thereof. MATT shall have the right to edit, publish and distribute all submitted content in any format or media, as well as to any person or institution.
  11. Payment of any honorariums shall be made by Pay Pal (you will be responsible for opening your Pay Pal account).
  12. Submission of a news article or video does not mean that the article or video will be published. Furthermore, MATT reserves the right to remove any published content at any time in its sole discretion.
  13. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MATT and its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives from any claim of copyright infringement or any other claim arising as a result of the use of some or all of your submitted content by MATT pursuant to these terms and conditions. Furthermore you hereby release MATT and its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives from any and all claims concerning the use, modification, publication, or removal from publication of any content submitted by you.
