SPECS FOR NEWS ARTICLES

1. Reporter should be at least 18 years.
2. Articles have to reflect what is important and relevant to the Mexican and the American communities.
3. Articles should be no longer than 450 words and no less than 300 words.
4. We encourage our collaborators to include all graphic materials that will support the article, i.e. pictures, printed materials, etc.
5. Images should be a maximum of 5MB to 7MB, 72 dpi, 8.5 x 11 inch.
6. MATT reserves the right to reformat the images and to edit the content as needed.
7. Free-lance collaborators will get paid an honorarium of US$30 per published article at MATT or affiliates.
8. The more clicks, comments and votes your article gets from the audience, the more chance you have to increase your honorariums in the future.
9. Articles should not include racist, derogative, or discriminatory statements, nor disrespectful language. Remember, we are looking for objective solution seeking reporters and collaborators.
10. All articles published by MATT will become the property of Matt Foundation, who reserves the right to edit, publish and distribute in all media, as well as to any person or institution.
11. Payment will be maid by Pay Pal. (you will be responsible for opening your Pay Pal account)
12. Submission of news articles does not mean that the articles will be published.

SPECS FOR VIDEO NEWS SEGMENTS

1. Reporter should be at least 18 years.
2. Videos have to reflect what is important and relevant to the Mexican and the American communities.
3. Videos should feature the video and audio content relevant to the issue. They will need to be more than just a talking head giving an opinion. Click here to watch a reference sample.
4. Videos should be between 3 and 5 minutes long, edited with natural sound on tape.
5. Video can include interviews, establishing shots, and b-roll to illustrate, voice over, reporter's opening and closing shots, etc.
6. MATT reserves the right to reformat the video and to edit the content as needed.
7. Free-lance collaborators will get paid an honorarium of US$40 per published video at MATT or affiliates .
8. The more clicks, comments and votes your video gets from the audience, the more chance you have to increase your honorariums in the future.
9. Videos should not include racist, derogative, or discriminatory statements, nor disrespectful language. Remember, we are looking for objective solution seeking reporters and collaborators.
10. All videos published in MATT.org become the property of Matt Foundation, Inc, who reserves the right to edit, publish and distribute in all media, as well as to any person or institution.

All written and video submissions shall include a signed release, in a form determined by MATT, in which the reporter verifies they are at least 18 years old and in which the reporter agrees to transfer all rights to the written and video submission to MATT Foundation.
