Helping Immigrant Mexicans Recover Official Documents
This initiative is directed at Mexican citizens residing in the United States. It offers fast, easy, and low-cost access to official documents issued by the Mexican Government, such as birth certificate, death certificate and marriage licenses.
MATT Registro Civil
Registro Civil strives to provide access to essential resources for applicants to obtain their official documents in order to establish their identity in the United States.
Registro Civil allows the applicant to officially establish his/her identity in an effort to perform any legal procedures such as: applying for a job, opening a bank account, applying for a loan, applying for a scholarship, and applying for legal residency among many other things that transpire in everyday life.
This initiative is an evolving project that currently offers its service to natives of Coahuila. With the current success of this project, MATT is currently negotiating with other State Governments to extend this service and support to all Mexican citizens living abroad.
The Registro Civil offers the following services:
MATT Maestro en Casa
The MATT Education, Inc. established MATT Maestro en Casa (MMEC) in San Antonio Texas, in 2009.
MATT Maestro en Casa (MMEC) is an educational program that promotes immigrant integration and parent engagement while enhancing English language skills. Established by the MATT Education, MMEC was introduced in Texas in 2009. The MMEC program helps immigrant families better understand life in the United States so that they are more efficient in their everyday activities.
The MATT Education forms strategic partnerships with individual schools, school districts, and other non-profits to bring this resource to communities across the nation. Currently, MMEC is offered in Texas, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Florida. MATT's 'Become a Partner' application process requires interested organizations submit a proposal for program implementation, evidence that their organization serves a community in need of the program, and a plan for the follow-up and monitoring of student progress and course completion. All applications are evaluated to ensure partners will provide students with the guidance and structure necessary to create an optimal learning environment.
