Today, "George Lopez: America’s Mexican" was released by Comedy Central Records. But you won’t be able to buy it in stores until October 8. That’s because Lopez is the network’s first performer to have a record released digitially before it hits retail shelves.
Lopez’s latest CD was recorded at the Dodge Theater in Pheonix, Arizona. According to a PR Newswire release:
Taken directly from his performance, Lopez delivers a hilarious routine touching on his own Latino roots, immigration and naturalization, modern-day kids, old-school values, interracial relationships, the E. coli outbreak and the future.
Lopez maintains an extremely active schedule as a stand-up comedian, is a sell-out attraction coast-to-coast and has headlined concerts at many prestigious venues. He is the co-creator, writer, producer and star of the Warner Bros. Television-produced sitcom, "George Lopez," which aired for five seasons on ABC. His past CD, "Team Leader," was nominated for a 2004 Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. Among his many industry awards and honors, Lopez received the 2003 Imagen Vision Award, the 2003 Latino Spirit Award for Excellence in Television and the National Hispanic Media Coalition Impact Award.
