Scholars: Candidates' past votes "no guide" to how they would govern

Blog CQPolitics reports that presidential scholars who have studied Obama and McCain's voting records on immigration say that their past votes are really "no guide" to how either man would actually govern as President.

The main argument centers around the idea that a legislator and an executive take a wholly different approach to just about everything. Take a look at the article—it's worth a read.

Obama might actually be the better choice for immigraiton, although he's horrible on other issues. He wants the full two-terms whereas McInsane has said he only wants one term. Therefore Obama won't want to do anything to jeopardize his re-election while McCain couldn't care less. I suspect either gentlemen will be knocked on his ears by the roar of disapproval from the American people at any sort of shamnesty.
