He didn't call on Americans to learn "foreign languages." He called on Americans to learn Spanish. Big difference. Your headline is deeply misleading.

He says Spanish as an example - because it's the issue at hand, about Latino immigrants - and then follows it up with the idea that American children should strive to be "bilingual". Not misleading. You are a whiner, Irene.

No, he clearly said to make sure your children learn Spanish. Later on he back-tracked and tried to make it sound like he meant foriegn languages in general, but that wasn't what he really meant, because he also wrote the same thing about Spanish in his book "Audacity of Hope". He's on board with the Hispanic-Latino agenda to shove their language down our throats, and this was a coded message to them that they'll eat up. I do think the word "whiner" applies more to Mexicans and other illegals who feel "entitled" to US citizenship and other goodies no matter how abusive they are to our laws and our people, as well as to those who enable and encourage their whining. PS -- shouldn't you be in San Diego helping your buddies in the Tan Klan prepare for their big day tomorrow? I hear they need someone to help them rehearse their national anthem, "Raza, Raza, Uber Alles."

Irene is clearly right on this issue. Obama did some backtracking but his message was clear, learn Spanish. Anyone who doesn't see the officially bilingual country in our future must be an ostrich. That is Obama's real message. It is amazing that he would choose an audience in Georgia before which to make this surreal statement. I guess he was suggesting that all the poor Blacks have nothing better to do with their time than to try to master another language. I'm surprised he didn't suggest ebonics; that would have made as much sense.
